I have a 28" LCD panel sitting at home now i used to own a 22" and this problem i will describe never once happened on the 22".

I seem to get mouse lag / monitor lag i was wondering i used your formulae to work out the desired Mhz and bandwidth i needed to run my monitor at that required resolution ....... now i noticed when i plugged the DVI cable in the back of my pc that its only a single link DVI cable.

So my question is can a cable that is not carrying the appropriate amount of info can this cause the monitor to slighty lag ... when i mean lag its ever so slightly.

Any help much appreciated spec's below

1920 x 1200 resolution and only running 60hz atm

8800 gts video card Nvidia

so my system spec's should be able to easily cope with the resolution.

Welcome to the forum!

All video cards I have ever seen are all single link connections, not to meantion you LCD monitor most likely has a single link connection. So single link was the right choice.

a 60hz refresh rate is more than enough on a LCD monitor (and most likley the highest the LCD supports). I wouldn't try anything higher as it could permently damage your monitor.

AS for the mouse lag, I am assuming this is only on this perticular display (Not sure if you have more than 1)?

It I was noticing mouse lag I would first be looking at the Mouse Drivers/Usb Drivers (Assuming it's a USB mouse). After that I would start looking at mouse setttings such as acceleration (I'm sure you have adjusted these).

There is really nothing that I can think of that would allow a "display" to cause the mouse to lag.

I'm not sure about the machines specs, but 1920x1200 is a BIG resolution and could be alot of work for your video card to handle. Just for testing purposes I would probally reduce monitor resolution to the 1280 x XXX range and see if the mouse lag persits.

As long as you have a nice clear display with out any pixles being dropped, you should rest assured the cable used to connect the monitor is just fine and the problem most likley lies else where.

Thats really weird, is this an acutal "pc monitor" or a HDTV that you are using as a moinitor?

Secondly have you tried connecting the monitor using another connection (SVGA?) to see if you have the problem

Very weird, seems you have all the ussual stuff crossed off the list. I might contact viewsonic about the problem see if they can be of any help. Is windows using the monitor driver? or Generic monitor driver?

Sounds like a mouse driver problem...... But I don't know of anyway a monitor would cause issuses? I'm sorry to say, I'm outta ideas, I would contact view sonic...

Either that or uninstall all drivers relating to the display and reinstall...?
